How Mark Felt and Leon Jaworski Helped the Commies

June 7, 2018

I don’t believe FBI Associate Director Mark Felt  and  Special Prosecutor Leon Jaworski  deliberately set out to give “aid and comfort” to America’s communist enemies, but they couldn’t have done more to help the Soviet bloc countries if they had been leaders of American communists.   Their misuse of their  positions to undermine President Richard Nixon weakened the presidency and thus the ability of the United States to compete with the Soviet Bloc.

They took advantage of a botched CIA “black bag” operation to destroy Richard Nixon in spite of the fact that the United States was leading democratic nations in a long term conflict with an alliance of communist dictatorships.   The burglary fit a pattern of CIA/FBI operations later investigated by  Frank Church’s Senate Committee.  Len Colodny and Robert Gettlin in their book Silent Coup state that someone convinced  White House Counsel John Dean he should have CIA personnel investigate a claim about an acquaintance of his by breaking into the Democratic party headuarters.

The details about Watergate are not important.  What is important is that it was oneof many operations carried out by government agecies that included the bugging of Dr Martin Luther King .    The misuse of the incident to force Nixon out of office was a disaster for the United States that created opportunities for the Soviet Union and its allies   The Democratic Republic of Vietnam took advantage of the weakened United States  presidency to launch an invasion of South Vietnam that one or two B-52 raids could have ended.   The weakness of the United States  allowed Iranian students to take over the American embassy and the Soviet Union to invade Afghanistan.

The strength of the United States depends upon the strength of its president.    Leon Jaworski’s over throw of Nixon was a disaster for the United States in domestic policy as well as in foreign policy. The country had economic troubles for a decade after the overthrow of  the Nixon administration.

Sen. Bill Nelson in Effect Calls President Obama’s Actions Treason

June 11, 2013

I interrupt my discussion of sexual harassment in the military for major breaking news.

Sen. Bill Nelson, Democrat – Florida, in effect said that President Barack Obama committed treason by claiming that Edward Snowden’s revelation of NSA monitoring of American phone calls was an “act of treason”. Nelson served on the Senate Intelligence Committee for six years.

Burgess Everett reports in Politico that Nelson said, “On the issue of if this a whistleblower or is this an act of treason, I think it directly is [treason]. And I think most of the people who served on intel will tell you that,”

“I think he ought to be prosecuted under the law,” Nelson told reporters. “Extradited and prosecuted. We cannot have national security if our secrets can’t be kept on our methods of gathering information.”

If Snowden committed treason by revealing NSA’s program to spy on American phone calls, then President Barack Obama committed treason when he released similar information about how the CIA found Osama bin Laden. After the execution of bin Laden Obama revealed that the CIA had been monitoring al Qaeda phone calls in its efforts to find bin Laden and had used satellite cameras to track bin Laden’s suspected courier.

If Snowden should be “extradited and prosecuted” as Nelson suggests, then Obama should be impeached and removed from office. Obama’s offense was far more serious than Snowden’s. Snowden only revealed NSA is using computers to monitor phone calls. Obama told al Qaeda the United States was able to identify and monitor its calls. Obama went further and told al Qaeda that the United States knew which phone numbers they were using.

I don’t know what Edward Snowden’s motive was in revealing NSA montoring of domestic phone calls. I do know that if his actions qualify as treason then so do Obama’s.

Europeans Reverting to Barbarism

March 29, 2011

he ancestors of today’s Europeans couldn’t understand the significance of what they were doing when they vandalized Rome. The modern descendants of those Vandals are capable of understanding the significance of their actions.

The Vandals who sacked Rome had nothing to lose from the destruction. The Vandals who are sacking Libya have a lot to lose from the destruction.

The destruction of the Libyan military is creating an opportunity for al Qaeda to take over Libya. Al Qaeda is a long time adversary of Muammar Qaddafi, but had been too weak in Libya to challenge him.

NATO’s attacks on Qaddafi’s military are rapidly changing that balance. Afghan war veteran Abdul-Hakim al-Hasadi is already taking advantage of the situation to lead the anti-Qaddafi effort in Darnah. He potentially could use his combat experience to take over the rebel movement.

If al Qaeda takes over Libya, it will have access to oil money and perhaps gain an opportunity to blackmail European governments to get out of Afghanistan. If al Qaeda takes advantage of NATO’s overthrow of Qaddafi to take over Libya many NATO leaders will join their Arab counterparts in the unemployment line.

Some might even face criminal prosecution for treason (giving aid and comfort to the enemy). In the U.S. a latter day Joe McCarthy might emerge and use the incident to attack individuals who had nothing to due with the decision.

British Prime Minister David Cameron would likely be classified with Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain who gave in to Adolf Hitler’s demands to obtain what he called “peace in our time”.

NATO is risking creating anarchy. Anarchy tends to produce tyrants The difficulties of replacing anarchy after the fall of a tyrant can produce a new tyrant like Napoleon or Lenin. Anarchy in Libya could also cause a cutoff of oil until someone restores order.

The U.S. is still in Iraq because of the difficulties of restoring a stable government. The American presence prevented al Qaeda from taking over Iraq as it attempted to do even with the American presence.

NATO needs to be preparing to move a peacekeeping force into Libya to replace the government NATO is destroying. Marines from NATO nations should be on the ships offshore now or be in route to them. American paratroopers in Italy and the paratroopers of other NATO members should be loading planes with equipment and preparing their gear so they can take off at any time. Turkey would be the best choice to control post-Qaddafi Libya because it’s a Muslim nation. .
